Public Meeting Presentation - I-40 29.7 Drainage and Bridge Improvements

This public meeting presentation communicates important elements of the I-40 29.7 Drainage and Bridge Improvements project.

Near MP 29.7 on I-40 in McKinley County, the three bridges over the South Fork Puerco River neither accommodate predicted 50- and 100-year stormwater events nor meet NMDOT drainage design criteria. Both of the interstate bridges and the NM 118 bridge have been studied and determined to be undersized and needing replacement. The NMDOT currently has a project underway to design the new bridges needed to accommodate future large-storm events (as well as roadway and drainage improvements) and become facilities that can serve the greater transportation corridors of I-40 and NM 118 for years to come.
